THE OBAMA BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AT MOJITOS LOUNGE IS HELD TO SUPPORT THE OBAMA VICTORY FUND AND TO SUPPORT LOCAL LATINO YOUTH THROUGH THE BOSTON MUSIC CONFERENCE.

BOSTON, MA- The Obama Birthday Celebration at Mojitos Lounge will be held Sunday August 3rd 2008 from 8pm to 12am as both a celebration of the presidential hopefuls’ birthday and a fundraiser to support the Obama campaign and the Boston Music Conference which is a proud supporter of Barack Obama’s presidential bid. This event will offer both a unique and informal environment in which to network and discuss issues concerning this election and its impact on the Latino community in Boston as well as offering excellent dancing, music and ambiance in which to celebrate both Obama’ birthday and Latino culture. One of the issues of interest in this event is the educational opportunities both locally and nationally for Latino youth with a focus on loss of music programs and the consequent fallout associated with this trend.

In Boston there are a number of fundraisers supporting Barack Obama which are extremely successful but either are out the price range of younger voters or adhere to a format which may not hold their interest or specifically address the issues they find important. The Obama Birthday Celebration at Mojitos is specifically formatted to be a meeting ground for both more experienced and younger voters; with lower cost of attendance options which reflect this. Furthermore this event is designed not in the network and dinner style format but rather in a network and dancing format featuring both representatives from the Obama campaign and the Boston Music Conference along with top DJs in Boston to ensure great entertainment.


The Obama Birthday Celebration at Mojitos is supported by and working in conjunction with the Boston Music Conference. Both events are taking a special interest in the education of Latino youth in the Boston area and find music to be a key component in that education. In Boston, as well as across the nation, we have witnessed the decline and/or loss of many music programs within our public educational system, due either to loss of funding or reprioritization of educational goals by the government. Correspondingly we have seen a decline in the performance of other subjects, since, as many argue, the consumption and creation of music actually increases academic performance in general.

In consideration of this issue and a multitude of other important issues at stake in this upcoming election; the Obama Birthday Celebration at Mojitos was created. This event will help ensure the victory of Senator Obama by giving everyone a reasonably priced opportunity to show their support. And remember it’s also going to be a lot of fun!
